Ramen.

Yep.

Amed has a new ramen spot, and its name is Yakura Ramen.

Located on Jl. I Ketut Natih in Purwakerti, Yakura is bringing Japanese ramen into Amed's increasingly interesting food scene. The restaurant currently holds a 4.8/5 rating from more than 80 reviews, which is a pretty solid start for a newer name in town.

And honestly?

We're kind of into it.

So… Ramen in Amed?

Hear us out.

After spending half your day underwater, walking around with your hair still slightly wet, and getting approximately 47% more sun than you planned, a bowl of hot ramen sounds surprisingly perfect.

There’s something about comfort food after a day outside that just works.

And that’s where Yakura feels interesting.

Amed already has plenty of places serving the food you’d expect from a coastal Balinese destination. Fresh seafood, Indonesian classics, local warungs, smoothie bowls, coffee spots, you know the drill.

Yakura comes in from a completely different direction.

Japanese comfort food. In a laid-back coastal town.

And somehow, it doesn’t feel out of place.

Yakura Ramen is located right in Purwakerti, one of the busier parts of Amed, making it an easy stop when you’re exploring the main road or just looking for somewhere different to eat.

The concept is pretty straightforward: ramen, Japanese flavours, casual dining, no need to overthink dinner.

And maybe that’s exactly why it works.

Amed isn’t really a place where you want to overthink things.

You spend the day exploring. You come back hungry. You shower, change into something comfortable, and suddenly someone says: “Ramen?”

Honestly, that’s the entire plan.

The Unexpected Addition to Amed’s Food Scene

One of the things we love about Amed is that it still feels like it’s figuring itself out.

It’s not trying to be Seminyak. It’s not trying to be Canggu. And please, let’s keep it that way.

But that doesn’t mean the food scene can’t evolve.

Over the past few years, Amed has slowly picked up more cafés, international flavours, speciality coffee spots, and restaurants catering to travellers who are staying longer and looking for something beyond the usual holiday menu.

Yakura feels like part of that shift.

It's a small but interesting sign that Amed's food scene can have a little more variety without losing the relaxed personality that people come here for.

Because sometimes you want nasi goreng.
